As the world knows, or at the very least those whose flights were delayed/cancelled during Eyjafjallajökull eruption, Iceland has a large number of active volcanoes. On average there is an eruption every 5 years.
But this does not solely result in volcanic eruptions, there are also many geothermal areas where you can witness bubbling clay, Geysers in action or steam bursting out ouf the ground, the sulphur colouring the ground nearby, creating amazing contrasts.
